Lab Packing
ESS has proven to be exemplary in lab packing services across the country. Our chemists are highly trained in all aspects of compliance issues and have many years of experience in the environmental industry. Lab packs consist of small containers (usually less than six gallons) of contaminated, partially used or outdated products. Many of these chemicals become extremely dangerous over time and if not handled properly the results can be catastrophic. These containers are often damaged, leaking or not properly labeled.
Our lab packing process begins with careful inspection of the waste inventory. Our trained chemists use procedures to ensure that all unknown wastes are properly identified using a hazcat system and are categorized according to federal and state regulations. Chemical containers and their contents are then carefully evaluated and all unsuitable containers (i.e.: leaking containers) are repackaged to ensure safety and compliance. Each chemical is then segregated into compatible groups or hazardous classes, inventoried, and transferred into over-pack containers. Each over-pack is sealed and properly labeled.
Transportation and Disposal
We prepare all documentation necessary for transporting and proper disposal of these materials. Our computerized system aids in the accuracy of preparing profiles, packing lists, land bans and manifests that are in accordance with all regulations.
