Pressure Washing with Water Reclamation
Overview
While pressure washing has been performed for many years, the proper treatment of wash water runoff has become a growing concern for many cities. Local governments are receiving monetary fines for the quality of runoff being released into their waterways and have begun initiating regulations to improve their water quality and recover financial losses. Section 301 of the Clean Water Act prohibits a point source discharge of pollutants in the waters of the United Sates.
Challenges
The challenge for multi-site customers is to comply with numerous city, municipal, state, local, and county regulations. Generally, many vendors are not using reclamation practices, utilize low pressure, and are under insured. These same vendors often times utilize chemicals such as Muriatic Acid which can further your liability exposure. Utilizing and managing multiple vendors makes it difficult to implement a corporate program with the appropriate standards.
Solutions
ESS is capable of providing pressure washing services throughout the United States ensuring corporate standards are being followed while reducing environmental liability. ESS utilizes high pressure water without chemicals to clean your surfaces in a closed loop system that recycles and reuses water providing a sustainable service solution. All services are performed by ESS dedicated technicians and no subcontractors are utilized.

Results
ESS does not utilize any chemicals during our services unless specified by our clients. Using our state of the art equipment, our typical pressure washing solution generates over 3,500 PSI and is capable of heating the water to 240 F. The results that can be expected from our pressure washing services on a typical concrete, or equivalent surface are:
- Surfaces will be free of trash, dirt, mud, grime, mildew, body fluids, sediment and debris
- Surfaces will be free of gum
- Surfaces will be free of visible residues, buildups, and spills
- Surfaces will be free of streaking
- Oil and greases that have not penetrated the surface will be removed. Staining that has discolored concrete may be removed over multiple services.
Water Reclamation
The process that ESS utilizes for water reclamation consists of three stages: Reclamation, Recycling, and Disposal. Using a combination of vacuums, booms, and berms, ESS reclaims rinse water which is processed through a series of settling tanks and filtration systems allowing ESS to reuse the same rinse water time after time. As our filters and rinse water become degraded, ESS utilizes approved facilities, properly documenting and disposing of our spent, rinse water. Through these three stages, ESS is able to provide a close looped system that prevents the release of water into the storm water system while also conserving the amount of water utilized to perform the service.
